What I believe

I make this pledge in acknowledgement of my individual power to help make Australia a better, more just society.
I recognise that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians continue to suffer injustices. The existing 17 year life expectancy gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians is a staggering injustice.
I believe strongly that racism in all its forms has no place in Australian communities, homes and institutions.
I consider that all Australians can contribute to overcoming racism and disadvantage.

What I will do

I will learn more about the Indigenous health crisis and I will start by reading the facts on the antar.org.au website.
I will take personal responsibility to challenge racism if it occurs in my home, office, community or among friends.
I will speak up against myths and generalisations about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and debunk these myths whenever I hear them.
I will talk to my friends or colleagues about this campaign and spread the word.
I commit to justice and human rights for Indigenous Australians and will support ANTaR and other like-minded organisations to achieve these goals.
